FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Generally I begin with an estimate based on the amount of time I will spend during the photo session, any travel expenses, any out-of-pocket expenses, post-processing of all images and the delivery of either digital images or any expenses for actual prints. If a particular client requires any licensing (for product or advertisement photography), those fees and conditions will also be considered. Once I have determined these costs, I can then propose a flat rate to the client.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Initially I try to ask as many questions as needed to fully understand the wants, needs and desired outcome for each client. It's important to know what they expect to receive as the final product as well as what the specifics entail regarding the necessary arrangements and/or the venue, time constraints, budget and the likes. Once my client and I have established some perimeters and the scope of work involved, I will then create an agreement/contract that outlines these specifics that the client can review. Once both my client and I agree upon all aspects of the project, the work can then follow.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have studied art and photography at Western Washington University. I received my BA in Graphic Design & Pre-Press Production and a minor in Photography. Most of my professional life I have worked in tandem as a graphic designer/art director and a film and digital photographer. Some of my clients include Microsoft, Boeing, Starbucks, and T-Mobile. Many of my clients are a mix of families, small companies, individuals/private parties who have hired me to photograph their products, weddings, events, portraits or real estate.
