What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
All new customers receive an approx. 20-minute consultation. Each consultation covers style preferences, style goals and budget. I am able to tailor my service to meet your specific requirements; however, in the rare chance I am not the right fit I will do my best to guide you to the next steps.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The fashion industry is a very faced-paced industry. To stay a step ahead I review collections and trends six, some times 12, months before everyone else; attend runway shows and private label trunk-show events. I also have exclusive access to trend reports from around the world. Armed with this knowledge I am able to tell you what's coming next so you can start investing right away and be fashionable ahead of the rest.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your service? If so, please share the details here.
All initial consultations are free. For Men: With our clothier service (custom shirts, made-to-measure suits or extended sizing), you simply pay for the items you love / want to purchase.
Personal Styling services are billed hourly (minimum of 2 hours) and determined by the service needed.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
For as long as I can remember I have always had an infinite love for fashion and personal styling. At a young age I designed clothes and even worked backstage at local fashion shows. As my skills and talents in the industry progressed, I finally decided to pursue Personal Styling as a business through my love for wanting to help people feel and look their very best.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with an array of customers from business men and women, to athletes and entertainers. I've also done work for large organizations such as the NFL. With this array of work I noticed a common thread: One of active forwardly mobile people who want to update their professional and social wardrobe.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I produce a men's fashion, grooming and lifestyle segment for MyNEWPhilly.com called The Gents Manual (see the latest episodes on my website under the same name). As well as participate as one third of a fashion team, as a style expert to review some of the most notable red carpet events.
2016’s Stomp The Runway Against Sexual Abuse as the Celebrity Stylist - Bernard Hopkins was one of the highlights.
The National Football League (NFL) hired me as their Key Stylist for a digital lookbook, where I showed women how to stylize NFL 2015 women's apparel for any occasion. The NFL required I style approximately 16 looks (head to toe outfits) over a 3 day shoot. I provided 40+ looks and the shoot was complete in 2 days.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
It's vital to work with a professional who listens to your styles preferences and wardrobe needs, who is then able to translate that into wearable head-to-toe outfits. And who is also shopping savvy - one who can purchase luxury without breaking the bank.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
A few questions to consider before engaging a Personal Stylist or Wardrobe Consultant: Do you want a complete overhaul, replace or update several looks or just need an outfit for an event or special occasion? How do you want to look and feel? Is there a style icon or someone whose style you admire? (having a visual/photo of that person is a great start)
