The thing about JC is that it's not just about the task at hand but he's truly interested in well being of the tenants. One more than one occasion a problem came up with one of the properties and JC was there in the blink of an eye to take care of it. I feel confident that the repairs have been done well and my tenants are well cared-for. Plus, he's very personable and the tenants enjoy spending part of the day with him. His solutions are practical and lasting - I don't feel like he's trying to upsell me. Plus, he sends photos of the project before, during, and after, so I feel I know what's going on even though I live out of state.
Here's an example of a repair JC did for me: my tenants had the feeling that their floors were caving in. JC saw that the prior owner of the building - a contractor no less! - replaced some floor boards with cement. The cement was crumbling and the tenants were falling in to the hole through the carpet. JC moved the furniture, carefully cut through the carpet, removed the cement, replaced the subflooring, added new hardwood flooring, leveled it, repositioned the carpet so carefully that you'd never know it was cut, and put back the furniture. Then, he saw that the floors on the first floor were not supported in the basement. He added jacks and stabilized the floors on that level, and also rebuilt the stairs going down to the basement since they were about to collapse. Now my tenants can safely go down there to do their laundry. And his fee for all of this - done on an emergency basis - was very modest. It could have been a disaster, but he took care of everything while the tenants stayed in the house.
JC communicates well and often, and takes the initiative on things like snow removal - he'll go and look after my tenants even before I know there's been a storm. Great guy!
