FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
There is no short answer to the question "what do you charge" because we do such a wide range of photography: weddings, portraits, corporate events, food, commercial, and ALL are very different. A job can be as low as a few hundred dollars and as high as several thousand, depending on the work involved. One thing is for sure, however, is that clients hire us because they see the value in having great images and great service. We're not the most expensive that you'll find but we're also not the "low-cost leader."
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I believe that personal connection is important. Ideally I like to meet in person or have a phone call/video chat so we can talk about your specific needs and simply to get to know each other. When I am on a shoot I frequently get comments like "you are great to work with" and "you really know what you're doing." Keep in mind that they haven't even seen how great the images are; this is simply the result of conducting myself as a professional and making people feel very comfortable on a shoot.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started out "old school" back in college; shooting b/w film and developing it myself. I had no plans on making it a full-time career. Around 15 years ago I started picking up little jobs here and there and word spread. I wasn't content to produce work that was just "ok" so I studied lighting, composition, perspective and people started to notice. Through dozens of workshops, lots of hard work and trial-and-error I learned how to create images that most other photographers can't come close to.
