Introduction: I've done everything from working as a line cook in a busy high-end restaurant, to making grab and go organic meals for a small cafe. But my favorite job is teaching recreational classes, so I can share my love of cooking by helping people learn new practical skills and create delicious meals. I also enjoy the intimacy of cooking for smaller, private events. Working with clients to plan a creative menu that will delight and impress their guests is always fun.
Food connects people! Everyone has a favorite dish, cuisine, ingredient or taste. I love to hear those stories and translate them into a custom class or meal. It's also so exciting to see a student become confident in something they've never done before, whether that's learning new knife skills or working with a totally foreign ingredient. I love to get feedback that someone has gone home and tried a recipe from one of my classes! I also enjoy the artistic and experimental side of cooking. Taking the tastes I love (or a client loves!) and remixing them into a new dish, or planning a menu around an important event or a certain style, is always a fun creative challenge.
