Introduction: Photography is a passion of mine that I love to share with others. Whether it's a headshot for LinkedIn or capture photos to document a special occasion I bring a professional work ethic developed in years of working in advertising agencies and in marketing. My goal is to meet or exceed your project expectations! I take a personal and customized approach to working with all of my clients which translates in each project being unique in it's own way. I love making my clients happy. It's that simple. I truly love photography and all elements of the business. I'm not in the habit of writing reviews, but I'm making an exception for Colleen and C.R. Photography because I want the world to know about her. We first met her when she did a family shoot for us and our two daughters (ages 18 months and 4.5 years) with the intention of getting something for our Christmas cards. I was recommended her by someone in my mom's group - the price was right and she was available, so I signed. I was immediately impressed by her professionalism and response time - she answered my numerous questions over email with infinite patience. I especially want to point out that she took the time, about 2 weeks before our shoot, to remind me of our shoot and send me some outfit ideas for the family - we've worked with a handful of photographers in the past, and she was the first one who's done anything like this. As a busy mom of two, it was SO NICE to have someone watching out for me that way! On the day of, when I was stressed beyond my limits, she was a lovely, calming influence and didn't even seem fazed by my snotty, miserable younger daughter. She brought kid-friendly props that really helped keep the girls' attention and had clearly done her homework (i.e. scoped out all the locations ahead of time). She was also flexible during the shoot and willing to work around the girls. Given the temperaments of my family, I figured I would count myself lucky if we had 1 decent picture. Imagine my surprise when she sent us dozens of lovely pictures that captured the personalities of my girls perfectly, and in ways that really made me smile! Beyond just the photography session, however, she was also great about keeping me updated on the status of our proofs and she delivered as promised. She was also very accommodating so that we could take advantage of a printing discount on our holiday cards - even though it was last minute notice! I think the most telling reviews are those of repeat customers, so it's worth mentioning that a few months later, I asked her to be the photographer for our extended family shots for my mom's Christmas present - 6 adults and 2 kids - and they also turned out amazing. Our family can be like herding cats, but Colleen maintained her professionalism and patience, and as before, had readily scoped out locations and back-up locations in case something went wrong. She had great ideas for poses - but, what I valued more is that she also kept an eye on what we were doing and shot candid pictures of us just interacting naturally, and they were gorgeous and really made our family's love shine through. My sister, who is literally the least photogenic person I have ever met (think opposite of Barney from How I Met Your Mother), was thrilled with how they turned out, which is saying a lot! When my parents showed the pictures to friends, everyone raved about them. After the session, when we saw the proofs, I asked her about tweaking the color on one or two that looked a little strange - and she went back and retouched all of them, not just those that I had asked about, and they looked even better. The only thing that I regret is that she moved to the East Coast, which means I can't use her more! I highly recommend Colleen and C.R. Photography, without reservation. You will not regret it!

Colleen did a family photo shoot for us when our son was six months old. She immediately made us feel comfortable and was a joy to work with. Taking engagement photos can be a nerve-racking experience (especially since you'll have these photos for the rest of your life!) but Colleen has a special ability to strip away any fear or doubts. With a perfect balance of both professionalism, reassuring calmness and whimsical fun, Colleen captured many wonderful moments that my fiancé and I will always treasure and look back on in fondness. If I could give her rating 6 stars I would, and wouldn't have wanted anyone else to be our engagement photographer. Hire Colleen without any hesitation!

Colleen is a wonderful photographer – talented, easy to work with, and very skilled at putting people at their ease during a shoot. I selected her because her website and portfolio impressed me, and because she responded very positively and resourcefully to my initial questions. Colleen approaches everything with care and great judgment – I especially appreciated the pre-shoot consultation where we met in person and discussed what I needed. She then shot family photos and some single portrait shots for me, and the results were outstanding – they exceeded my expectations and I was thrilled with the final package of photos. Colleen is entirely professional and a great person. I recommend her very highly!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It vary's depending on the scope of the project and output required.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It vary's depending on the type of photography work I'm hired to do. Generally it starts off with a consultation so that I can better understand my clients scope of work and their expectations for final delivered photos. Once I've done the photo shoot I always do my best to turnaround a gallery of photos for my client to review and select their images. Once they've selected the images they want then I finalize any edits required and accommodate any revisions requested, if needed.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I worked in advertising and marketing for 7 years on big brands such as Microsoft, Canada's National Lottery Brands, Wonder Bread and more. I have worked on sets with many photographers in the past and two years ago I've shifted to work behind the lens. I have been working as a freelance photographer for 2 years now.
