Introduction: Tettsui the Art of Self Defense. Tettsui is a Modern approach to Self Defense based on Asian Martial Arts. It can be learned in weeks, not years like traditional training. This is because Tettsui techniques are based on natural movements and gross motor skills.
Training can be Privately, Small Group or Open Classes. They can be done at your location or mine.
Tettsui is great for Adults or Kids.
A little bit about me my name is Matt Gallagher and I am 49 and started training at the age of 8. I have e earned the rank of black belt in 11 different martial arts. I am also have earned the rank of 3rd degree black belt in Daito-Ryu Aiki Jujitsu and a 2nd degree black belt in Shotokan karate.
I started working in the Bars and Clubs in Nj and NYC in 1990 and the is when my training changed. I got away from the sport based karate which was taught everywhere and pretty much still is and took a more practical and realistic approach to martial arts.This is where Tettsui (Hammer Fist) approach was created. I love traditional training and still train, but I realize I train them for art and Tettsui for street.
I teach Karate Jutsu for Kids in Rahway and I also teach adults Karate privately. My Karate is not what you normally see it is Koryu”old ways” training not the modern sport training that is so popular today.
Private lessons start at $35 an hour.
If more that one person add $10 a hour for each additional person.
I also offer 10 hour Self Defense Courses for Privates, small and large groups. Programs start at $300. These are a great option for someone that does not have time for continuing training but still need/wants to learn how to protect themself.
On Going Open Classes are $50 a month.
