FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attended Paul Mitchell the School in Fayetteville for cosmetology. Most of my makeup training is self taught, though I attend numerous workshops, trade shows and seminars throughout the year.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always loved makeup, I knew I wanted to be in the creative industry at a very young age, it took me a while to pin it down. I've been to college for graphic design and fine art, I've been a tattoo artist, I've even made handmade jewelry. Then I went to cosmetology school, and I just knew I found the right place. I worked shooting bays at photography expos while I was in school, which set me up for some really great connections after I got out. I've found this industry really comes down to being in the right place and how you treat people.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with a lot of photographers in the area through the PPNC and various modeling groups. A lot of brides and military for their military balls. Film sets, tv shows, pageants, fitness models, runway shows, cosplayers, prom girls. I try to do as many different things as I can.
