FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My rates are variable depending on the level of service required (full or partial planning), and the size of the event.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to start with a brief email questionnaire about your event so I know exactly where you are in the planning process, and to envision your perfect party. I'm always happy to discuss over the phone as well, but *millienial things* - email is usually more efficient. Once we've established your budget and vision, I will create an event planning timeline to make sure we stay on track.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I majored in Family & Consumer Sciences, which is a little outside of the box for someone working in the hospitality industry! However, I've learned to tie together the main parts of my major into events - child development (creative ideas and age-appropriate party themes for children), nutrition (food allergies, safety, and nutritional components when selecting catering), interior design (the event flow is so important!), and fashion (following trends and incorporating special elements or colors). During and since college, I've worked as a corporate meeting planner for a large non-profit in the DC area, a hotel front desk agent, a hotel sales coordinator, and as an intern for the Special Event Management team at Disney Parks & Resorts. My varied experiences have given me a well-rounded view of events - from corporate to social.
