Brie is a great trainer, very professional and experienced. My sweet 2 yr Lab Harper was great in the house but would pull at the leash and bark at other dogs. Brie was amazing and in one session we solved the issue!! Highly recommended trainer and worth every penny.

My completely spoiled Hound Dog needed help in many areas. After working with Brieana at Upward Dog Training, I learned so much. I followed her advice and tips and I'm happy to say, me and my dog Lion have a 100% better relationship. Once I learned how to teach him, he learned so fast. I had a great experience and have recommended them to my friends and family.

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

The most popular training option, this is where I work one on one with you for 1 hour, focusing on specific needs for you and your dog. We begin with a free (no obligation) in-home evaluation, I'll visit you and your dog in the dog's natural state and environment. I service the areas of: Redlands, Highland, Loma Linda, Yucaipa, and Calimesa. We can then evaluate your dog (or dogs) and come up with a training option that will best suit your needs. Our one hour session can be used to work on basic obedience, intermediate/advanced obedience, behavior modification, walking skills, or just manners in the home. I will provide training equipment to use during our session and written instructions of your lesson plan to keep and review.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

Brieana Kersten can't get enough dog hair in her car, house, and overall life. She has been busy in the dog scene in Southern California. She started out working at a cage-free boarding ranch in Redlands, CA. After several years of looking after a large pack, she had picked up excellent dog tuition. She enjoyed spending her days looking after and taking care of her pack of dogs, sometimes consisting of upwards to 40 wagging tails. From there she wanted to extend her dog skills in every form, and learning how to professionally bathe dogs was an opportunity she was happy to explore. She obtained her certification through Kris at Head to Tail Grooming and IPG (International Pet Grooming) and washed pets returning home from Redlands Rover Ranch in downtown Redlands, CA. All the dog behavior knowledge helped wonderfully in assisting Brie to become a great bather. After working next to Sue Stevenson for several years, from helping her run a dog ranch, and tagging along on dog training calls inspired the next field she was very excited to be apart of. Dog training was a great way to combine all the natural dog behavior knowledge, with a strong passion for helping dogs and their owners to have a better relationship.
