FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I start with the initial consultation in the client's home, or on the job site. I meet with the client to discuss project objectives, wishes and preferences. I asses existing conditions and give my first opinions and ideas. We discuss changes in layout, possible materials and budget. After the client decides to retain my services and we start the design process, I explore every possible idea for the space layout, style and details, and present them to the client. After the client's approval, I prepare working drawings for construction. If the project needs to be approved by coop's or condo's board, I will prepare all necessary plans and scope of work and obtain their permission to start the work. If the project needs to be filed with D.O.B., I will prepare all necessary paperwork, submit the project and obtain the permit. If the client will commission me to supervise the project, I would be involved in every possible aspect of construction, installation, selection of materials, specification of appliances and fixtures.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an MA in architecture and 25 years an experience. I am a licensed and registered architect in New York State.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Recently I designed a kitchen in New Jersey for a client who has a collection of small toy castles, which he wanted on display in the kitchen, on top of wall cabinets. He also wanted the kitchen in a 60's style. The project was extremely challenging, but the result was rewarding for me and for the client. It took about 6 month to complete. The client was extremely satisfied and currently hired me to renovate his two bedroom apartment in Manhattan.
