FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Fees include cost of supplies, travel time, as well as gas in transit, not to mention training or other time spent learning the craft. Of course there is also a factor of what the market will bear when pricing. Please think about how much people are willing to pay for a half face design at amusement parks...and then ask yourself how much is it worth to have a painter who can recreate that magic for at least 15-20 antsy kids at a birthday party in an hour or two?
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will send a quote based on the information provided in the request. I prefer to speak to the customer on the phone before an event, but it is not always necessary. Once the customer's and my questions have been answered, a deposit covering 50% of the total quote is made in order to reserve my time for their event. Without a deposit, I cannot guarantee my availability, as I frequently receive multiple requests for jobs on the same day (Saturday is the most often requested day). After deposit is received, I will usually contact the customer again a day or two before the event to ensure there have not been any changes to the venue address or start time. Then, I show up and impress your guests with great face painting! The remaining 50%
