FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After booking, I work with the client by short interview and with a questionnaire to do my best to capture what they're hoping to achieve from their portrait session. No two sessions are alike, just as no two individuals are alike! This experience is solely about the client, and I strive to capture the moments exactly how they'd like.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a trained artist and photographer for over 24 years. Before attending Stivers and Colonel White Schools for the Visual and Performing Arts in Dayton, Ohio, I started learning my beloved craft from my step-father who was a photographer in the Air Force. From a very young age, we would often go on photo shoots around the neighborhood and various places on base and then process our images in the lab; which originally sparked my passion for images and photography. During high school I would often take pictures and portraits of my friends and fellow students during school events and for senior portraits. In middle and high school, I received specialized training in black and white photography using various types of cameras, digital imaging and various development techniques, and won many awardsin state-wide competitions. During and after high school, I was a studio photographer with a very popular national photography chain and spent many years capturing precious moments and birthdays and helped create memories.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Hire someone that makes you comfortable. Photography and portrait sessions aren't about just sitting there in front of a camera and being pushed out the door in 15 minutes so they can move on. Find a photographer that takes the time to get to know you and truly understands the portraits you're wanting them to create.
