How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was influenced by hypnosis at a very early age. As I child I was fascinated with the mind and in exploring and learning about the phenomena of hypnosis. Unfortunately, I also suffered from severe panic and anxiety attacks which hypnosis helped me overcome. I found it to be very relaxing and I loved knowing how to maintain a balanced and peaceful state.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Washington DC Hypnosis Center has worked with clients who desired to master their minds and take charge of their lives through stress or anxiety management, smoking cessation, overcoming phobias, procrastination, sports performance, career success, finding their life’s purpose, attracting outcomes, and much more. We have also worked with clients interested in hypnosis education and training. Our clients have come to us through referrals from their physicians, therapists or family and friends and also via the Internet.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I was especially fond of a client of ours who had been referred to us by his doctor to overcome his fear of flying. He had been refusing to travel on a plane which was delaying a work promotion. Today, that client is free of his fear, received a promotion, has started traveling. Afterwards, he even signed up for our professional hypnosis certification training at Washington DC Hypnosis Center and is now offering this powerful gift to others.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would advise someone seeking a hypnotist or hypnotherapist to listen to their gut or inner feelings. Think with your heart and feel with your mind. Do you feel or sense a connection with the person you are speaking with on the telephone? If your subconscious mind isn’t feeling comfortable or if you are sensing any hesitation, the chances of creating the changes you want to experience are small. Good rapport is essential. Schedule an appointment if you feel a connection with the person and not based on a price quoted for services. It is also advisable to work with a practitioner in an office and not in a home. Finally, ask if their services are provided by a female or male hypnotist.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Before committing to a project with a hypnotist or hypnotherapist, you will want to be certain they are certified and competent in your specific challenge. Learn what activities they participate in to keep current with the latest modalities and research. Talk with them in depth about your desired outcomes and design your successes. You will also want to make sure the sessions are conducted in a legitimate office and not in someone’s home.
