Introduction: I have both the education and the experience and I think both are very important. I specialize in working with puppies ~ the larger the breed the longer puppyhood lasts - up to 2 years old.
I know that at this moment most of that may be unimportant to you. You just need someone, somehow to help you with this puppy that is making you crazy. I am here for you. My job is to find out what you need and help you get there, NOW.
HOW AM I DIFFERENT
A lot of dog trainers will tell you they have trained hundreds or thousands of hours with clients and their dogs and they can handle any dog and any situation. Although I am not questioning their honesty I do question whether or not you can be an expert at everything. Think about it.
Let me be honest and tell you what I DON’T DO.
• I don’t handle cases of true aggression where there is a history of your dog biting someone - sometimes referred to as ‘red zone’ dogs.
• I don’t train dogs for protection work.
• I don’t board and train and right now I am not doing classes.
I have a broad foundation of working with dogs in various fields including
• Veterinary Medicine
• Day Care & Boarding
• Raising puppies for Guide Dogs for the Blind and Canine Companions***
***As a puppy raiser for these service dog organizations, I would get an 8 week old puppy and had each of them up until approximately 18 months. The puppy was literally with me 24 hours a day.
People always ask me when they should start training their dog. My reply is always the same ‘when should you start training children?’ The fact of the matter is that dogs, like children, are learning all of the time. I work with people and their dogs in their home. Although my fees do vary, my most popular package is $395 for six visits (usually more than an hour). The first visit is all about us getting to know each other. It gives you an opportunity to ask me any questions you may have and tell me what you would like to accomplish with your dog. It also gives me a chance to observe your dog in his home environment. From there I will create a tailor made training plan and return for an additional five training sessions. Dogs can absolutely transform people’s lives….. and not always in the grand example of a guide dog, or a service dog for a child with Autism. You got your dog for a reason, to have a relationship. And, if you are finding yourself frustrated, that nothing you have tried is working or if you are ahead of the game and know that earlier training prevents a lot of problems down the road, I would love to hear from you.
