I've worked with Angie for a long time. She started out as a newspaper photographer who always had a knack for capturing charmed moments and unique portraits, so when it came to trying to find a photographer for my wedding in June, she was the only person on my list. She did an AMAZING job, capturing every detail from start to finish. There was not a moment, when I was looking through my photos, that I thought "Hmm, I wish she'd gotten a photo of X." Like all the very best photographers, Angie knows how to be a fly on the wall - that's how she gets her shots! But she's also great at being present when she needs to be: For instance, she masterfully directed all the family shots (because you need someone to manage people and tell everyone where to stand for those!) She was also great at talking us through the process before the wedding and asking about details, and making sure we communicated to her what photos were important to us. That, coupled with her trained eye and talent for isolating and framing the perfect scene and the right moment, makes her a no-brainer choice for ALL your photography needs!

Working with Angie was a delight! She was well-organized, creative with regard to locations, relaxed and no-stress about our clothing decisions, and she even offered to do an additional session with our kids for free after they woke up on the wrong side of the bed for the first session and weren't very cooperative. I would recommend her in a heartbeat to anyone interested in a fun and laidback professional photography experience and awesome photos.

Angela took our family photo and braved the mud and two wild little boys to get some great shots. She was friendly and got our photos to us very quickly. I received 5 photography quotes from thumbtack and chose her because her photos looked like she was the only one of the 5 who knew how to use a camera properly! She did not disappoint.

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I like to meet with the client first to discuss their needs, style preferences and final product. I also like to get to know them and their personalities. So much of my style of photography is about vibing with a client and capturing their personality, so meeting first is very important to me.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a photojournalism degree and worked for three years as a photographer at a daily newspaper in Montana. I started to apply photojournalistic techniques to family, portrait and wedding photography in 2008 and that's when I found my passion!

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Meet your photographers before the shoot to get to know one another and get comfortable with each other. Also, Pinterest is great for inspiration, but don't get caught up in copying someone else's idea exactly - create your own genuine pin-worthy moment!
