Introduction: I have been teaching and creating job-skills courses for ten years. I started out by facilitating career classes for Ramsey and Hennepin Counties and have grown from there. My audience consists of individuals who range from ages 16-70. I also have job coached and developed employment opportunities for people with severe and persistent mental illnesses in the non-profit sector. I have created over 600 resumes during my career for people in a variety of fields (IT, hospitality, management, executive-level, marketing, sales, education, financial services, retail, manufacturing, construction, etc.). My most current position consisted of teaching college courses. Some examples of courses included written communication, customer service, business communication, Microsoft Office, professional development, and many others. In Professional Development, I educated students on resumes, interview skills, cover letters, social media, networking, and professionalism. I am an expert in these topics, since I have ten years of experience teaching them.
The resume is a very important document. It's your first impression when applying for a job. Many proclaimed "resume-writers" type your information into a template, and it's not original, and it won't stand out from the competition. I am an expert and certified in Microsoft Word, so the formatting of your resume will be superior. I try to make each resume unique in some way, so it causes the employer to stop and look at the resume. I will distinguish your resume from everyone else's document. You can view example resumes on my website.
Additionally, I am an expert writer. I have been teaching writing and grammar courses for about three years at a local college, and I have a master's degree from St. Catherine University.
I am also versed in writing and editing, and I am open to writing or editing for different specialty areas. I am able to format large-scale documents including incorporating a cover page, table of contents, table of figures, figure captions, diagrams, hyperlinks, bibliography, footnotes, citations, an index, custom headers and footers, and other formatting you may need.
I look at each resume as a little gift. I love when someone views the resume and says, "Ohhh, I love it. It looks so nice!" That's the response I work to achieve! When you have a stellar resume, you appear more professional, and it gives you a powerful confidence boost. It's a great feeling to hand an employer a resume that you are excited about and proud of!
I also love to write and edit. I get excited about grammar and punctuation rules and love making sure they are all in place. I am definitely an English nerd. :-)
