FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Personal Training certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, one of the most highly respected certifying bodies in the country for fitness professionals. Additionally, I am a certified Fitness Nutrition Specialist.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Before meeting with someone who might become your personal trainer, it’s important to be clear on your goals - are you hoping to shed a few pounds for a special event? Would you like to work on rehabbing an injury? Do you want to work toward running a 10k or trying a Tough Mudder? All fitness goals are great, but if you don’t know what you want to accomplish, your trainer can’t create a plan that will help you to get there. It’s also important to think through what a realistic exercise program might look like for you, so that you can discuss this together. If you have a busy schedule (and lots of us do!) it may not be realistic to plan on hitting the gym every day. This is totally fine, but it’s better to acknowledge this from the get-go and design a plan that will fit into your existing routine than to try to restructure your life around your new fitness goals.
