Introduction: I am a certified Orton Gillingham Reading Tutor. The Orton Gillingham method is a multi-sensory approach to teaching reading. The students are taught each individual sounds through seeing, hearing, and writing. Lessons are individualized and students do not progress until they have mastery of the sounds. The OG method is considered one of the best practices for teaching reading to a struggling reader.
In addition to tutoring, I also have 13 years of experience as a special education paraprofessional. I especially love tutoring students in reading. There is nothing better than seeing a student, who didn't think they could read, learn to read.

Gail is a skilled tutor and brings a thoughtful and caring approach to reading. She is a natural at bringing in elements of fun into her lessons that have become really engaging for our son. Our son started working with Gail in 3rd grade and was several reading levels behind l. He did not feel confident in his ability, and reading became a real struggle. Working with Gail through a progression of sessions has been such a rewarding and positive experience. Our son has improved in his reading by leaps and bounds, jumping several reading levels over several months. Most importantly he genuinely loves working with Gail, she brings in games and other fun ways to build confidence and aptitude. We have continued to work with Gail, and now our son looks forward to going to the library and reading on his own. Gail has been invaluable in our life and has made reading enjoyable again. I would highly recommend Gail and truly can't say enough good about her or the impact she has made on our family.
