Introduction: Fundamentally, Laughing Crow Yoga is about introducing yoga to people of all ages, body types, and physical abilities.
The mission of Laughing Crow Yoga is to bring yoga into the lives of busy people who don't have time to make it into a studio, especially those who sacrifice their own health while caring for others. Laughing Crow Yoga specializes in onsite yoga classes that are tailored to meet the unique needs of your group.* Whether you're working to improve group morale, support health and wellness, or just bring people together to do something fun, yoga is a welcomed pause in a chaotic day.
Client and instructor work together to determine which themes resonate with your particular group such as "taking time to breathe," “giving gratitude,” or "developing a positive mindset." In addition to an appropriately leveled yoga practice, each class includes a somatic component, breath work, and ends in a guided mindfulness session. Classes typically meet once or twice per week at your chosen location: school, office, home studio etc.
*Private one-to-one sessions are also available
I enjoy everything about being a yoga instructor especially the look on people's faces when we have just finished a class. It's a look that says, "Thank you for helping me create a moment for peace and calm in my life."
My love affair with yoga first began in 2005 while in pursuit of chiseled arms to compliment my wedding gown. Years later, I turned to yoga as a high school English teacher struggling to care for myself, my family, and my students while working in a high stress environment.
Eventually, I realized that I needed to take better care of myself in order to take better care of my students and family. I needed a healthy outlet for my stress and I found that and so much more in yoga. I found myself thinking about yoga all day and I couldn't wait to get to my mat. I loved the way the movement released endorphins and left me feeling euphoric and strong. I loved how it felt to take deep mindful breaths. I loved that I had someone encouraging me to be calm and turn off the chatter in my mind. I loved the opportunity to care for myself for a moment and to just be still. I loved it all so much that I ultimately decided to become a certified yoga instructor in order to share the transformative power and joy of yoga with others.
I feel fortunate every day knowing that it's my job to help others breathe better and live stronger!
