Introduction: When life gives you rain....puke a rainbow! My name is Erica and I'm the owner of Puke Rainbows. I'm a six time Emmy-Award winner for video production and have had the good fortune to work alongside celebrities such as Prince, Ellen, and Harry Connick Jr. Some of the companies I've had the privilege of speaking for include: 3M, Target, Minnesota Association of Government Communicators, WistiaFest (Boston), AdFed 2, American Marketing Association, the Minnesota Bloggers Conference, Social Media Breakfast, St Ben's/St John's, and numerous schools, creative agencies, and PR companies. I feel so lucky that I get to do what I love every day!
But, getting here wasn't easy. I openly speak about battles with confidence, imposter syndrome, depression, and being a female in a male dominated industry. Overcoming things like assault, and a rocky childhood - make my story one that many people can identify on different levels. This comes into play, when it's relevant to the audience, of course. I also conduct workshops about how to best use video, smartphone content, storytelling, and interviewing techniques for video.
I have a few different keynote presentations that are requested often, such as, "What Prince Taught Me About Business." Filled with heart-touching stories of mentorship from the purple one himself.
I am also the reigning "top twitter personality" in the Twin Cities....weird, huh? More than anything, I love to customize keynote presentations and workshops depending on the audience.
I remember feeling so alone as a young professional struggling with hardships. It wasn't until I started telling my story of triumph that I realized everyone is experiencing self doubt, creative blocks, and the need for courage at some level. From middle school girls, to middle-aged men, I've received so many memorable notes about how my words prompted them to try something new, step into a position they originally didn't feel qualified for, or to share a moment of useful vulnerability with family, friends, or co-workers to find solidarity in the team.
When it comes to my video and storytelling workshops, I love seeing the "ah-ha" moments when people feel empowered to do new things on their own!
