I spoke with Sandra Hough, and she agreed to spend about 20 minutes a day for a few days while I was on vacation, to put out food for homeless kitties that I feed daily at the retirement home where I am a resident.
I agreed to supply all materials - food, water jugs, disposable dishes, and even garbage bags for the used dishes. She quoted a price and I agreed.
When weather conditions became very difficult for outdoor feeding, I asked if she would like to reschedule, as I was able to reschedule my time away, and she agreed. I was willing to reschedule as much for her sake as mine, as the weather was very treacherous. I cancelled my vacation, but would have paid her anyway had she showed up.
When I called a few days later to reschedule a new time (at her convenience) she claimed she had "decided to stay within her own neighborhood", though I am in the 10 mile range she claims to serve. I offered her more money than she had requested as her fee, because at that time I had counted on her agreement to perform this service and had not interviewed anyone else. I live in a public area and she would have no reason to distrust me personally. I feel that it was unprofessional of her to agree to take a job and then cancel for a frivolous reason. She may (or may not) be good with animals, but I as a new customer, was left scrambling to find someone else at the last minute.
I would not advise others to trust her word. Her behavior in this case was clearly unprofessional. By changing her mind for no obvious reason without even notifying me, she should have made an effort to locate someone else who is reliable. Animals are not house plants - they are living creatures and it is a solemn obligation to take care of them.

I have not met Nancy and am surprised that she felt the need to write such a negative review. I did offer her a quote and agreed to meet with her at some point to discuss feeding her stray cats. After much consideration and many repetitive phone calls,I decided that we were not going to be a good match for a working relationship and respectfully let her know. I absolutely love animals and am very responsible and caring. Sandy
