The job was an acoustic album recorded in one weekend on location. 9 songs with drums, bass, acoustic guitar, and keyboards and vocals. Recording, mixing and mastering were fantastic. Aaron made the most of the source material he was given to make a great album. Since the album was recorded in a day and a half due to our bands time constraints, there were some performance glitches, missed notes or rhythmic issues, that didn't get noticed until post production, make sure you come prepared, because only so much can be fixed after the fact.

We've had multiple experiences with Aaron at SoCal Session Studio. He's helped us out on acoustic recordings with guitar, piano & vocals and even a few larger recordings with full band... electric, bass, drums, etc. We've done it all... from record right there in-studio on his gear, to deliver him files we've recorded ourselves and he's always come through. Best results have always been recording with him. Not just because of the high quality recording gear he uses. As a musician himself, Aaron gives great input during the session. Highly recommended!

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    1. Sit down and talk about the overall vision for the project - how many songs, what style, what is the message that is going to be communicated? 2. Develop a schedule for getting the project tracked, all the vocals, instruments and other items recorded. 3. Get started Recording! We usually are relaxed in our scheduling, and don't want to rush a recording - as many takes as we need to get it right is what we'll do. 4. Post-Production - Mixing, getting the feel of the song right with the artist is critical after it's all been laid down. 5. Mastering - There are many techniques to raise the relative volume of a recording - our philosophy is always to bring up the volume as much as makes sense, and to do it with out changing the sound of the song at all. Over the years we've developed some unique ways of doing this that get amazing results.
