FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Service work such as fixture replacement (water heater, garbage disposal, faucets, toilets, etc) typically have a flat rate price. Leak detection pricing can vary depending on where the issue is in or around the house, but I can give estimates with more information. Remodeling and new construction work requires an in-person meeting to communicate needs, priority and budget.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After being contacted about their specific home improvement needs, I submit a custom bid to do the work. In some cases this is done sight unseen, other times I will travel to them to make the assessment in person. If they accept my estimate and rate, we then schedule a date or series of dates in which I will complete the job. During the working days, I always keep the clients informed and involved for their assurance and satisfaction. When the work we agreed upon is completed, I receive payment via cash/check or online service (Venmo, PayPal). Finally, I leave the client with my business card and request that they review my work and professionalism online (Yelp, Thumbtack, Facebook).
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I began my plumber's apprenticeship in 1999 during the end of my senior high school year. After my four year apprenticeship, I became a licensed journeyman plumber in Texas (2003-2006), and then later in Washington State (2006-2013). After moving California, I worked as a facility and maintenance manager for a manufacturing plant until I obtained my general contractor's license and then later my plumbing specialty license (both in 2018). I also hold a Bachelor's degree science in geology from University of Washington.
