FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
50-minute individual sessions: $90. 50-minute couples or family sessions: $120. 90-minute couples or family sessions: $180. Payments are rendered at the time of each session. I do not accept insurance as an in-network provider due to insurance panels' requirement of providing a diagnosis, their limitation of the number of covered sessions, and the potential for a clients confidentiality to be compromised, which goes against the ethics of my practice. However, I am an out-of-network provider which means that a receipt can be provided to clients upon request and submitted by them to their insurance company for reimbursement. I am also an BHS EAP provider. Payment is accepted via cash, check, credit or debit card.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I believe the most important part of psychotherapy is the client-therapist relationship. I offers a free 15-minute phone consultation to all potential clients in order to ensure that I am a good fit for what services are being sought and will help facilitate appropriate referrals if indicated. Depending on the reason psychotherapy is being sought, I will work with clients to resolve problems or reduce symptoms in the shortest time possible, however I have the expertise, experience, and skills to work with clients who present with mental, emotional, or relational problems that require more intensive, long-term treatment. During the first couple of sessions, I gather information and actively listens to the client about reasons therapy is being sought and then collaboratively creates a plan of action based on my assessment and the clients' goals. The length of treatment and the timing of the eventual termination of treatment depend on the specifics of the treatment plan and the progress the client achieves. In collaboration with the client, a plan for termination is made and discussed as the client approaches the completion of his/her treatment goals. Clients may discontinue therapy at any time. If either myself or the client determines that he or she are not benefiting from treatment, either party may elect to initiate a discussion of treatment alternatives. Treatment alternatives may include, among other possibilities, referral, changing your treatment plan, or terminating therapy.
