Introduction: Alex Carlbon is an artist from the east coast, living on the west coast. He creates abstract societies and never-ending stories by manipulating rivers of color to create free associative topographical map like paintings, known to be in the studio transforming functional antique doors and shutters into wild bursts of liquid color. His unique technique has been likened to rivers of mind's eye psychedelia and momentary glimpses into the human understanding of the universe, visions into psychographical expressionism.
Alex has redefined the use of acrylics, incorporating water, enamels, ink and resin to play within chaos and order, creating reflections of the fractal universe we live in. The influence of psychedelic experience and nature weave closely through the vibrantly atmospheric pieces, routinely prompting viewers to question everything they've ever known to be true.
His works have been featured in the album art of multiple bands, displayed in colleges and in galleries across New Jersey and California.
Art is my connection to the world around me, it's what makes me approachable. Creating art allows me to do my inner-work and exploration while still being alive in a right brain paradigm. I'm grateful I don't work a 9 - 5.
