Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I help creative people get clear about their careers. I'm an art history Ph.D. dropout from NYU Institute of Fine Arts, and previously worked in curatorial departments at MoMA, Brooklyn Museum, the Venice Architecture Biennale, and San Jose Museum of Art. My coach training is through the Academy for Coaching Excellence, whose coaching model constitutes some of the most rigorous accredited coach training in the industry. My coaching tools are from research-backed neuroscience, creativity studies, mindfulness, Design Thinking, and wisdom traditions like Buddhism and Ayurveda. My latest creative side project: building an intentional co-working community in San Francisco called WeSallyForth. I'm based in San Francisco and work with clients in the U.S. and internationally. First, let's talk about your parents. They meant well. They guided you the best they could, but couldn't have predicted how fast the nature of work and careers would change. Today, each of us has the biggest platform and microphone of any previous era and it's changed the very nature of work. This is the reality of work now: Today's market demands that you love your career if you want to stand out. I love that the market is reflecting what I've always known: A job is not just a job. Meaningful work is key to a fulfilling life. If you don't love your career, you've been feeling the pinch, a chronic frustration that feels and sounds like determined mosquitoes. The pinch comes from knowing there's a gap between where you are and where you want to be. I help creative people like you get clarity and go from where you are → where you want to be in career and life. This gets me jumping out of bed in the morning: I've helped my clients stop feeling limited, overwhelmed, and distracted by all the possibilities → feeling clearer, calmer, more focused; doing meaningful work and leading a fulfilling life.

I hired Kat 6 months ago. I used to be super embarrassed to admit I hired a life coach because most life coaches I met are so full of BS. One example was when I met a life coach who helped people level up in their career, while revealing that she’s still drives for Uber to make ends meet. Nothing wrong with driving for Uber, but come on. It wasn’t until I met Kat at an education dinner. She introduced herself as a “life coach” and I thought “Oh boy, here we go again.” But Kat not only had such great answers to the big questions I asked, she backed it up with frameworks that I actually resonated with. So she read a lot books - big whoop. Then I found out that she ran Seth Godin’s AltMBA community. Whoa! We had a deep 1 hour convo. Not only did she get life, Kat also understood the business/startup side of things. She really impressed me. I wanted to make big changes in my life and asked her for help. I hired her for 1 session and I found so much value, I worked with her every week for the next 6 months. Kat’s help had the biggest impact to my personal growth out of anyone I’ve ever met. - She found the main reason why I’ve failed every single diet/workout plan in my life. Back then, eating fast food every day would be an understatement. Giving up new workout plans became routines my friends would constantly call me out on. Then Kat and I worked on a solution to fix that. Fast forward to today, I’m literally in the best shape of my life starting with foundational habits/mindsets that only goes uphill from here. - Kat helped me sound board topics on my mind to help me find clarity: what I want in my career, what I want out of my romantic relationships, what it means to be authentic, what my North Star is, and so much more. Not all life coaches are BS - some are great and can literally change your life. Kat is one of those special humans - I owe a lot of my success in 2017 (and the future) to her help.

Kat helped me break through some long-standing mental blocks I’ve unconsciously built up throughout my life. She created a space that allowed me to feel comfortable but also excited, because my success was tangible. She asked the right questions, and carefully and professionally asked me to backtrack to the root of what might be the problem -- all with the gentle, constructive, and motivating guidance that is needed when speaking about sensitive topics. As a result of our coaching sessions, I truly believe that I'm a happier person.

I was seriously amazed by how much ground we covered in my Clarity Session with Kat. We moved seamlessly from broad strokes to clearly defined action steps in a way that made me felt both held and pushed. I emerged from the session with an "ah-ha" that I'd been struggling to articulate and face on my own. Kat has a human, methodical way of guiding you through the murk of your mind and (in)decisions to a point of calm and clear focus. This session has positively impacted the way I structure my time and attention around my business and side projects.

Kat's Mastermind group was an incredibly effective and helpful process for me. I came to the group feeling stagnant and burnt out in my work, knowing that I needed a change but unsure how to move forward. After six short weeks, I took the first steps towards a brand new career as a youth yoga teacher and am now actively working in my new position. Kat facilitated the group with flexibility and joyfulness while still providing much needed accountability toward our goals. Activities were well-tailored to the specific needs of the group and felt purposeful and valuable.

Kat is a seriously talented mentor and coach. She helped me identify a few blockers that were holding me back from producing both the quantity and quality of content that I felt I was capable of. She didn’t tell me how to do anything, instead expertly leading me down a path of self-inquiry to help me find the answers on my own. The result is more and better content. I've felt a distinct creative shift in my approach to photography ever since: have produced more work, said yes to more projects, and experienced a deeply satisfying level of creative growth since working with her.
