Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I currently attend UC Davis and am employed as a tutor at a top tutoring company that only hires individuals with exceptional tutoring skills, a top SAT score, and a high GPA. I have spent over 500 hours tutoring and received additional tutor training while working at a nonprofit for literacy for 4 years. In addition, I am a founding member of a nonprofit organization that provides tutoring to underprivileged children in various subjects. I provide experienced, individualized tutoring to individuals that need help in language arts, essay writing, and grammatical skills as well as scoring high on their SAT reading and writing, AP English, and AP literature tests that is time efficient. I can also work separately or together as a college adviser in order to perfect your child's undergraduate application to any of the universities or colleges, guide them in creating the most attractive application, and help them produce an unrivaled essay. As a current University of California, Davis student, I personally took the AP English, AP literature, and SAT exams recently (2 years ago), so I have an advantage in knowing exactly what the current tests ask of students as well as what strategies should be learned in order to achieve a score that is highly desirable and sought after by top universities. I know the right methods and tactics to get your child a better score; guaranteed. I also understand what most colleges are looking for in a student, and I can guide your child in writing brilliant essays to get noticed in the midst of tens of thousands of applicants. I have years of teaching experiences from my job as an editor at my high school's award-winning school newspaper, in addition to working at a nonprofit in San Jose and learning exactly how to teach English effectively. My education began in elementary school at the private school Challenger School, where I learned from the best grammar and literature teachers to build my foundation in English. Later on, I went on to attend Leland High School where I was a member of the number one speech and debate team in the nation and first medalist of various speech tournaments, President of the National Honor Society (organization that connects academically achieving students with volunteer opportunities in the community), volunteer of over 500+ hours from tutoring underprivileged children in low income areas, page editor for the award-winning school newspaper The Charger Account, and winner of numerous accolades for my involvement in the community including: Leland High School's Jefferson Award (given to one student once a year for exemplary work in the community) and Senior Recognition Award for Academic Work and Involvement in the Community. My SAT scores in critical reading and writing rank in the 96th percentile in the nation, and I graduated in 2013 in order to attend University of California, Davis as a managerial economics major. I work as a part time tutor to make extra money for college and help fund a non-profit for which I used my expertise in writing to create a business plan for, and I started the organization to help underprivileged children that go to schools with poor reading comprehension in order to provide them with free tutoring in writing and reading. My style of teaching involves importance placed on the basics of grammar, writing, and effective test taking; I believe that once a student has this foundation down, any question on the SAT or AP exams is completely approachable and easy to solve. In juxtaposition with my own personal test-taking strategies, I also implement the same strategies taught at many of the top SAT prep centers to ensure that your child is getting thorough tutoring sessions. For students that need help in English or writing, I lay down the basics for your child, show ways of developing creativity, and teach them how to write effectively and well. I work with your child's talents and provide a very personalized experience that changes dynamically in order to achieve your child's highest potential and give the best tutoring possible. Rather than having a strict teacher-student relationship, I like to develop a mentor-student relationship, which is more personal and understanding of students' needs. Learning should be fun, and I always like to implement connections of my student's life with learning. I understand that motivating a student to work can be difficult, but I find that my age and background make students relate to me easier than they would with other tutors, and this connection makes all the difference in productivity and enjoyment of the subject. Being able to create relationships with my students and see them succeed makes tutoring so worthwhile!
