Introduction: When someone decides to divorce or is served with divorce papers, they see an attorney, whose motivation is to get hired. Attorneys therefore do not necessarily educate and inform as to the process of divorce and what to expect as they navigate unfamiliar territory.
While I am not an attorney or a therapist, I have been a family law paralegal for 35 years, the last 20 for a very high-profile divorce attorney in San Jose who passed away in December of 2017. People I’ve seen will attest to the fact that my services are of great benefit in navigating the waters of divorce. I sit down, listen to the particulars of a situation, and then educate as to what they can expect, what issues they may deal with, what they can expect from their attorney, etc. I can also advise as to alternatives to the legal system.
I am someone who educates and informs as to the process of divorce. Once I’ve seen a person, there is no need for them to return. People proceed on an informed basis, confident of their next steps. No longer mystified by the legal system, worry is less and employees become far more productive during this stressful time in their lives. Of course, if someone desires to return, I am happy to see them.
