Introduction: At Angela Sun Consulting, we understand high school isn't just about academics. It's also an important time for students to grow as people. As our students improve on their academics, their SAT, or their college admissions, we focus in parallel on building study skills, confidence, and interests. All of our tutors at Angela Sun Consulting have personally scored perfect SAT and/or ACT scores. Our philosophy: We believe that test prep is all about the methods, not a student’s intelligence. Anyone can reach a perfect score if they follow the right procedure and put in the work. We focus on using smart testing strategy, good notetaking, rigorous practice, and time management to help students achieve their best scores. We also believe parents are an integral part of supporting students through the test prep process, and keep our parents in the loop by inviting them to class and sending email summaries of classes if parents cannot attend. Our SAT/ACT Prep method: For SAT/ACT class, classes are typically 1.5 hours at a time. Classes can be held in person in our office in Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Mountain View, or via Skype. We assign 1.5 hours of homework per class. During our first class, we will produce a written plan and timeline of how long we think your student should do tutoring, what score goals we think we should aim for, and how long we will spend working on different topics. Typically, we work on one section at a time of the ACT before moving onto the next to ensure a student fully masters the skills and concepts necessary for a section. At the end, we will do review to ensure that the student retains all necessary information.
