Introduction: One of the more frustrating parts of language learning is the "getting stuck" and "not understanding" part. Instead of avoiding it and reverting to translation, I get my students comfortable with it! After all, when you engage with a speaker of another language it is very possible they may not know how to explain or interpret in English. As a language learner, you have to learn to feel comfortable with not knowing everything and learning how to maneuver with what you do actually know. To get you into the language, I make the initial lessons all about you and we start with simple stuff that you can really get a handle of. On top of that, I make it fun! We play little games at the end to get you using the vocabulary and grammar. Language learning does not have to be boring or difficult, I can help you see that and get you communicating with confidence. There are few things more rewarding than watching people grow with the knowledge I share. As part of the process I really enjoy working one on one with individuals. I also love that my job involves the chance to develop life long relationships. Of course it's not something that happens with every client but at times it's inevitable especially with the kids and adults whom I see multiple times each week. If I had to choose, I'd say my favorite learners are the ones completely new to Spanish or the children simply because they show the fastest rate of progress.
