Beware! My roof was never completed by this company. Work began in early February. and proceeded slowly for about a month. Work then stopped abruptly - for over one month - without any reasonable explanation. Then, after being absent for those many weeks, the company owner (Mr. Chancey) showed up demanding additional funds not agreed to in the contract and became hostile and belligerent when I would not agree to his terms. He then took his tools/equipment and left. I have been left with an incomplete roof, a broken window (a work accident never addressed by the company), a large stain (with active moisture) on my bedroom wall (from water intrusion due to the roof not having been properly repaired) and garbage all over my property (and even on the roof!), which the roofing company owner refused to take with him when he left. The roofer said that all the material was purchased, but there is a material that was not stored properly, which can no longer be used or is so damaged that it cannot be used, as well as material purchased that was unnecessary. Furthermore, the funds I have left will be insufficient to cover the cost of hiring another roofing company to finish the job, have the damage to the window and wall repaired and pay for the materials which need to be replaced.

I packed up my tools and equipment. that's the only thing that is True about this Review. I have a list of Homeowner's who I've done work for. And a list of Realtors, Property Managers, and Contractor's. That I still do work for. Call me at (912)-547-9292 for these lists. I first bid this job for $18,700.00. She ask me if she paid me cash could I do the job cheaper. I said yes and took $2,200.00 off the bid. I told her that she could write a check for the materials to the Supply company. But the labor needs to be in cash. When it came Friday's for the labor draw. all I got was excuses why she couldn't make it to the bank all week. My secretary advised me it was going to cost $870. 00 .For cashing those checks to pay my employees. So I bought miss Rollie a new contract stating She was going to give me the $870.00 and make sure the rest of the money's were in cash. Or we would go back to the original bid. I was polite as I always am. She said she wasn't going to pay me back and that its not going to effect her to keep writing checks. So we packed up and left. I did think it was funny when she said we left the roofing materials in the weather . We didn't leave a mess her yard. I believe in carma. So if you took the time to read all of this. Thank you. And one thing about me. I don't ask for money to start a job. I have my customers write a check to the supply company. And pay me when we're done. Unless the job is going to take a couple weeks or more. Like miss Rollies. So be weary if a contractor ask for money up front. Thank you again. Kenny Chancey. He came over right away and took care of the work in just one visit, making sure it was done right, and correcting deficiencies that a previous roofer had left behind.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $1.90 a square foot for 25 year 3 tab shingles $2.00 for architectural lifetime shingles. I do have to charge more for steep roofs. Metal, Tile, Slate, & Rubber Roofs. Depend on the roof style and color if any.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First to explain in layman terms everything thing I can do to insure. The customer knows the years certain materials last . And every thing from replacing pipe collars to installing Ridge Vents (I recommend putting Ridge vents on every new roof. ). And if I see something special or different that needs to be done. I tell the customer. And weather I do the job or you heir another roofer. Insist on the special thing's I pointed out. Included in the contract . If they try and say it's not necessary. Their probably not the one for the job. If anyone needs money down to start your job. offer to write a check to the roofing supply company. Never write a check to the Roofer till the job is done.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Over the years, I've had hands on training GAF Shingle and Rubber roofing materials. I was trained to install Tile and Metal roofs. But my best education is the 23 years I've spent tearing off and replacing roofs. And the difference between me and other roofers with this much experience. is I'm on every Job I contract. Not sitting behind a desk. That's why I've had very few call backs. And any roofing Contractor that says they've never had to go back to a job. well you know. lol
