A contract was signed in January to remove and build a deck. Frank came out to demo our deck and sunroom with payment received for doing demolition. We still have parts of our deck in backyard that weren't disposed of yet. (see picture attached) The contract included money for a dumpster but a dumpster was never used. We then gave more money to order the deck supplies. However a pallet of concrete was ordered that was not all needed for the job and not enough wood for the job. Also, no handrails were not even ordered! (The sub-contractor constantly was running back and forth to the hardware store to return excess materials and obtain common deck materials that were never ordered) The winter storm came so they were not able to break ground. The time came for breaking ground and we received an email saying job was going to be taken over by someone else. We weren't obviously a priority now since another project came up that Frank could make more money from and he ran with it. Our deck project was out-sourced to a sub-contractor who was a very honest guy but lacked the experience in building a deck. No building permits were pulled, (was told they would be) code enforcement showed up and threatened to place a fine. There was no flashing attached to ledger board, footer posts are not properly notched to support joists. Footer posts are bolted to joist. Which is not common code for decks. We are very dissatisfied with how this was taken care of and the lack of "communication" that frank claims he has so much of. Unless your looking for a total remodel- Rudis enterprise might leave you in the dark because a higher profit on a job came up! Very dissatisfied!!
