FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I price projects either by the hour or for a flat rate and consider the style of writing, research required, and any design elements. All of my quotes included one round of revisions with the client to ensure their satisfaction with my work.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Once I connect with a new client my first priority is to listen. Although not all information will be relevant to the project going forward knowing more helps me better understand their project and ask the right questions the first time. After an initial meeting I provide my client with my understanding of the project, the steps it will take to complete, and request any additional information. I am a strong communicator and want to ensure my clients are happy with the final outcome.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from the University of Oregon with a B.A. in International Studies and a Minor in Journalism. My studies exposed me to writing projects of varying lengths in both academic and journalistic styles. In 2013 I continued to develop my writing skills through the University of Washington's Certificate in Narrative Nonfiction program. My hands-on experience includes managing marketing for a nonprofit, local blogging, and updating website content.
