FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I provide a safe place for you to look at the patterns of thought, feeling, and behavior that may be interfering with your happiness. My basic approach is simply gentle conversation. Together we may identify patterns that are troublesome for you, look for ways to break the patterns, and maybe even practice some skills. I like to keep part of the focus on whats good: whats been going right, celebrating strengths, and rediscovering love and trust. If you are struggling with roadblocks to the life you want, I can help.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from Antioch University of Seattle with a Masters of Couples and Family Therapy. I have training in Structural Family Therapy, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Gottman Coupless Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic approaches, and the treatment of trauma and internalized oppression. I am strongly influenced by Dan Seigels integrative neuropsychology and use attachment theory (the simple relationship between therapist and clients) as the vehicle for my work.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I found psychotherapy fabulous for my own growth and want to bring that benefit to others.
