- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing for translation services is based on source text word count but localization services are charged per hour. Tutoring is per hour. Editing and proofreading services are per hour. Transcription is per minute for audio transcription and per hour for scanned notes or other text.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied Anthropology in undergraduate and obtained my Master's in Public Health from the University of Virginia in 2013. I worked for 3 months a year in Guatemala with Guatemalan communities on health projects from 2011-2013 and in 2013 moved to Guatemala. I lived and worked in Guatemala from 2013-2016. I worked in a Spanish School, for an NGO and for a public university's study abroad/summer research program during that time. In April of 2016, I completed coursework for the Graduate Certificate in Spanish to English Translation from New York University.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was asked to translate as part of public health projects and later as part of my job responsibilities while living in Guatemala. I then decided to study for the Graduate Certificate in order to professionalize my services further.
