Introduction: I love watching my drums students grow as musicians. I love drumming and making music in many different forms. I am interested in listening to what my students want to learn specifically (or helping them find out what makes them passionate as drummers!) and figuring out the best learning approach to help teach them. I do not believe that everyone learns the same way and I enjoy the figuring out what unique learning styles my students have and how I can best support them in those styles and teach in a way that is exciting, palatable, and easiest to hear for them. I can teach any genre other than metal and have a lot of experience playing professionally (concerts), recording, and teaching. I also have a bachelors in music performance from Naropa University in Boulder, CO and can write, read, and compose music outside of drumming. I thrive and take pride in seeing students overcome the difficulties of learning new material and finding out how intelligent and able they are. I am committed to finding out how each student learns and finding out how each student gets motivated to practice. The result of this style of teaching is seeing dedication, passion, and excitement in students as they grow into better musicians and learners.

Eli was my drum teacher for several months and I could not be more thankful to have had him. I was a percussionist and drummer through junior high and high school but really wanted to take my playing to the next level. Eli worked with me and I learned more than I ever could have on my own. He is an expert at his craft and perhaps more importantly, an excellent teacher. The primary qualities I look for in an instructor are patience, optimism, and effective communication skills. Eli gets an A+ in all three of these areas. Additionally, he is one of the most passionate musicians and people I have ever met, and as a result that made every lesson a blast. His positive energy is contagious. I highly recommend him if you are considering drum lessons.

Eli is exceptional in meeting me where I'm at as a beginner student. I immediately felt comfortable. We started off simple, and he really worked with my learning style to make sure I was understanding each instruction. I look forward to our lessons and highly recommend him to anyone looking to start or further their education!

Eli is a wonderful teacher. I've always had trouble with more complex rhythms and he truly helped me wrap my head them. His emotional intelligence and passion for music enable him to hone in on what YOU want to learn.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $50 per hour, $40 for 45 minutes and $30 for 30 minutes.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Get to know them, their musical interests and learning style in the first session. My top priority is making sure my student feels comfortable and excited about proceeding and that we are a good fit.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied music performance at Naropa University and graduated with a Bachelors degree. I have played in numerous bands over the past seven years which includes gigging, recording and composing. I have taught the past year or so and have had a few students.
