FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Most of my work is quoted by the job. When mowing or landscaping I charge by the job. There are a couple things that could affect pricing such as length of grass, how often it needs mowed as well as if you have a contract or not. When a contract is created typically the price is considerably lower and more services are included.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I went to school for environmental design. My work/ designs required me to create exterior ground designs to include but not limited to shrub, flower, tree and grass placement. I spent many hours designing plans for landscape. I have worked on a 18 hole golf course where my duties included mowing fairways and greens as well as put in and replace bunkers. My winter jobs move inside where I have experience painting, dry walling, installing electrical fixtures/ appliances and some light plumbing.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I started my business twelve years ago I was a single father and I was having trouble finding a job schedule to work around my daughters needs. So I took an old push mower out of my garage and went around my neighborhood asking if I could mow there yards. My first customer was a sweet older woman who paid me $20. bucks to mow her small yard. I took that $20. bucks and put an add in the news paper. Since then I have become very successful with all the knowledge, skill and equipment I need to do a professional job.
