FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My basic pricing for loose photo prints is 20 cents per print for orders of over 200 photos (standard sizes, wallet up to 5x7), or 35 cents per print for orders up to 200 photos. I scan all photos at 600dpi to ensure enlargement/archival quality. Please note, this pricing does not include optional requests like travel (for customers who request at-home service), large photos (which take longer to handle and scan), or photos stored in a physical album (which require more handling). I don't price gouge my customers by forcing them into purchasing USB keys or other storage media at egregious prices. If you have your own storage media, you're welcome to use it.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I'd like to get an idea of the size of the order and the customer's requests and needs. For example, how many photos are involved, what shape they're in, and how they're currently stored. I usually prefer a chat with customers about the benefits and limitations, so that they can make an informed decision about the best solution for their digitization project.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've used the Adobe suite of products for half my life, but what I really offer is passion and care while handling. I'll usually wear a mask when handling photos, always clean/dry my hands thoroughly, and wipe the scanner sensor for dust between every 25 prints, to ensure minimal dust interference. No bulk scanning service will give you that kind of attention.
