FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We do not have a standard method of pricing. Depending upon the size, complexity and nature of the project, hourly, lump-sum, or square footage-based agreements can be options.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Depending on the project type, size & budget, we gather as much information as is possible over the phone and email, but usually schedule a meeting to discover as much information as possible. Initial Zoning research is performed to determine If the project can be completed "as-of-right". If existing drawings/surveys are not available, we can arrange to field-measure existing conditions and recommend land surveyors if additions are planned. After existing conditions are recorded and put into a usable format, Schematic Design is often begun at the kitchen table of the owner(s). When a design direction is agreed upon, further sketches are produced to "solidify" things. After that, during Design Development, all materials, fixture selections, structural implications are finalized, and documents for bidding, permits and construction are completed. Drawings can then be filed for permit and construction contracts negotiated. During construction, we observe the progress and respond to any questions, resolve minor differences or misinterpretations and approve requisitions for payment.
