FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started working as a laborer/carpenters helper, gaining knowledge and skills as I worked my way up the ladder to carpenter, then lead carpenter, then superintendent and business owner. I attended college for engineering, and also have taken courses in safety, scheduling and productively, quality control and various equipment/material certifications.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Both my father and my grandfather were carpenters and residential contractors. My first experiences were working for them weekends and during summer breaks from school. After going to college for engineering science I decided I enjoyed the satisfaction of actual hands on work more than sitting in an office . I returned to work in the field, eventually starting my own business in the residential/light commercial field.
