FAQs
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
The first question should be how many faces the artist paint per hour. The average is between 10-15 faces an hour. If the artist says they can paint 20-40 faces an hour, it probably means they only paint small cheek art or they rush through sloppy designs. You should always take some time to look at the face painter's pictures and portfolio. You have to like their work! There are tons of face painters out there that do less than subpar work and it is worth it to hire someone with clean, likable designs that your guests will enjoy. Another question to ask is what type of face and body paint they use. If they use the paint you can buy at walmart or Michaels, you probably know that artist's designs are not going to be that great. Most face painting artists have to order their paint from the internet. The best brands of paint include Diamond FX, TAG, Wolfe, Arty Cakes and Mehron and a very common technique used by professional face painters is the one-stroke technique.
