After getting 5 estimates on my roofing needs, 3 of those from Thumbtack, I chose New World Painting and Handyman to hire. Avel Nunez and his crew were great to work with from the first meeting to discuss my needs to the finished project. Avel, the owner of New World Painting and Handyman, thoroughly discussed step by step what he and his crew would do to complete the roof. He took the time to help me choose the perfect roof shingle type and color and also kept me informed of any problems that arose while completing the project and discussed additional costs that were needed to resolve the issues. Once the original shingles were taken off, large holes were identified in 6 pieces of plank boards and plywood; he replaced them all and charged me minimal; as a matter fact my final cost was still below the first estimates given by the other 4 companies. Due to unforeseen issues, the men had to work an additional 2-3 hours, but they did it without complaining because they wanted to complete the job in one day, as promised to me. After the job was completed, they properly cleaned up the scraps and nails from my yard and removed the dumpster used. The owner thanked me for given him and his company an opprtunity to do this job. I plan to use them to complete other home improvements, as well coming up. (Pics of roof attached.)

How did you get started doing this type of work?
Although I've only been in business for just over a year,I have been in the trade for over 20 years and plan to continue strong because I just love what I do.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
We recently did an installation project of 8 windows, it was to convert a screen porch into a window porch with siding on the outside and a beautiful white trim in the inside. We also put siding on a 16 by 16 shed as well as the drywall finish and painting in the inside of the shed. The project took about two weeks and the before and after were something that just makes you proud of the beauty in the work that we do. What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure you choose right because not everyone is out to give you the best quality.
