FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing on any project is dependent on numerous factors. I prefer to begin an estimate by learning about potential clients’ expectations and needs. Those factors are cross-examined with the scope of the project. Then, if necessary, design factors are discussed that suit the parameters of the work and many times resolve issues in a cost effective manner. By gathering all of this information I am able to calculate fair compensation that is specific to each of my client(s). Additionally, I always encourage my clients to use premium building materials when they are within the budget; they will last longer, offer higher quality results, and are a more marketable investment for everyone.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I find that meeting with my clients before delivering a formalized estimate is always best. Learning about my clients’ expectations in detail is important to guaranteeing a product that is appropriate and that I stand behind. In a personal meeting, the exchange of details and ideas that takes place is more informing than the typical “fishing” method that is often employed via phone, text, and/or forum. It is also mutually beneficial to both parties in that we have both invested some time in the interest of providing you with the product that best suits your needs, expectations, and budget.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have several different certifications for specific product installation/application methods including OSHA 10 Safety and Hazardous Materials Handling certification. I have worked as an apprentice with other artisans where I learned traditional methods of fine woodworking, sculpting, and tile setting.
