Introduction: I am passionate about good food. Despite many turns in my career path, I have always found a way to wedge my love for cooking and sharing food into my work. I have years of experience working in the food industry. My current position as chef at Bright Generations Preschool has helped me grow as a professional. I developed menus based on Bright from the start recommendations, maintained cost-control to work within the budget, communicated with staff members/students and established relationships with vendors. My job as vegan chef at Aramark Corporation at The University of West Georgia challenged me to create delicious meals without including animal products. I worked at various restaurants in the Indianapolis area. I work at Glorious Events Catering on an as-needed basis. I am also a licensed elementary teacher. Education interests me and guides me to keep teaching and learning. Although I have not worked in the classroom for a couple of years, I have taught cooking classes with the Pre-K class at my current school. I enjoy learning from them how much they know about food and the way they show me how to laugh at myself, because after all, it's just food! I want to merge my talents with food with my work with education. My students help me to challenge myself and look toward the future with open eyes and an open palate!
