FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Everything is so case specific (both in terms of materials and labor), and there's really no standard way to price out most of the work we do. Our labor estimate will based on the ease/difficulty and skill level required to do the work, and of course the type of materials the customer chooses. In any case, we are a small and nimble company operating with as little overhead as possible, so were confident that our prices will be very reasonable and competative
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
While we are fully liscenced and insured, provide photos of our work, and references, working with a new contractor is still a scary proposition. After all, you're bringing someone whose integrity, competency and craftsmanship you may not know firsthand, into your home to work on a subject that you are likely unfamiliar with...that's a lot of trust to place in someone you don't know. To make the proposition less risky for the new customer we structure our contracts to guarantee craftsmanship and satisfaction before you pay for the job. While the structure of our agreement can mitigate risks, there will always be a large element of trust on both ends, and the best way to establish this is to meet in person and discuss your ideas.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Mostly just good old fashioned experience. Ali was formerly a research scientist and holds a Ph.D from UVA, and while that's not immediately relevant to this type of work, he brings the same scientific rigor, intellect and problem solving skills to every job.
