- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically set up a meet and greet to discuss their particular wants and needs . This may be Building, Real Estate or Home inspections. In this meeting I am there to establish what the clients are trying to achieve.Home inspections are and agreed amount and paid before the inspection is performed. many realtos clients on the buy side and the sell side may not like the true findings and decide not to buy. Therefore it is necessary in that industry thatwe get paid up front for our services in the Home Inspection field. With real estate I will set forth my percentages and give you one walk through to determine if you want to utilize my experince and unique skill set for your needs. if so we go into a contract and then I work for you according to the terms laid out. I don't want to waste the clients time nor can I afford to have my time wasted. On a construction call it is way more involved, I observe the architecture style of the home and the style of the interior trim, tile etc., as well as how they decorate and live. This is done because as a designer you should leave your wants and influence out of the equation. When you design whether it is a building, residence, multi- unit property, architectural woodworking or o room. Design should always be what the clients want. I am the car to get them where they want to go. After gathering the necessary information of budget, time frame and style they are trying to achieve. We'll go over the options on my Ipad after which I will go back to the office and send a rough draft verifying we are on the right page. If approved I write up a contract for the drawings and take a partial draw. and the balance is paid on delivering the product. We then go off the drawings to a hard price and draw up a contract for the particular project we are building.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am always educating myself. I have 2 state certified licenses. My General Contractors License and my Real Estate License. My Home Inspection License is not a state certifiable license though it does require continuing education. My Real Estate license has a continuing education requirement by the state. I also hold an RRP certification which allows me legally to work on lead and mold .
