FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I always loved working with my hands and overcoming challenges. I had an opportunity to work on a neighbors garage loved the physical aspect as well. It just fit me and I ran with it. 25 years later I still love the sense of accomplishment of a good days work and the relationships that are build through working on so many different projects.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Get to know the professional working on your project. Sometimes personality conflicts can make a big difference in how the project turns out. It should be considered professional courtesy on both parties to engage in honest dialect regarding this. Ultimately both would be happier working with someone else if such a disconnect is present. I have only had 2 such incidents in my 25 years and the first one was miserable and unproductive. I declined the second project and recommended and alternative to the customer and built a very good relationship as a consultant with him that has lasted many years.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
In general we love our work and thoroughly enjoy working with people. We also like getting paid a fair wage for our efforts. The construction industry tends to have a larger than expected cut-throat aspect to it and it can be hard to make ends meet when trying to compete in such an environment.
