Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Falk construction. Dennis did a fairly good job of managing the process, providing a written contract and addenda as we proceeded through the process. However, at the final closing of the project I was surprised by a significant additional sum that had not been added to the contract through the change process or agreed upon. Dennis conceded an agreement to split the difference, but afterwards, did not complete the work that had been agreed upon due to the concession. Also, one of his employees took materials that I had paid for and used them on another project. Lastly, the quality of their work was not to the standard I was expecting. All things considered, I would avoid doing business with Falk Construction.

I am very sorry that Brent H. feels that he needs to respond the way he did. I tried being up front with all of the costs( all in writing ) as his project progressed and feel that our workmanship is second to none. The confusion came when he went to my employee and discussed changes to some tile work that I had bid in our contract and then I was told by my employee that he said go ahead with the changes, anyway that was the cost concession that was made by me at the final billing. All work was completed as per our contract and addenda's and the final payment was made at completion of the work. Brent H. then hired one of my employees to do some work later on. That, as I was told, is where the tile was given for payment to the employee for work he wanted him to do. It had nothing to do with Falk Constructions contract or commitment to him.
We take a lot of pride in our professionalism and quality of work and have done so for the last 35 years.

We are extremely satisfied with our exterior remodel. We live on a dead end street so access and space was limited but Dennis' crew and subs made it work and it wasn't easy for them. Dennis was a gem to work with, he kept us informed of the schedule and his crew was here on time and worked hard all day. We had a good sense of trust with him and his regular crew. They were always polite and happy to answer any questions we had. Dennis made good suggestions for things we didn't think of and since it was our first time doing anything like this he was very informative. Due to permit restrictions it's not exactly what I imagined. It took twice as long as we expected and cost more than we planned on but it turned out beautifully! It's better than we hoped for. We gave them five stars because we're so happy with the end result, but there are a few things I would do differently next time:
1) I would have asked for additional workers. I wish that the regular crew was larger than three men because a lot of the time there were only two. I feel like it wouldn't have taken so long and put us into winter where we had weather delays (after permit delays, not Falk's fault). Having said that the work was impeccable and worth the wait.
2) Ask for costs on everything! Dennis was more than happy to accommodate any and all changes but didn't offer the additional cost unless you asked for it. When we did ask, his approximations were spot on.
We plan to use him again in the future for other projects and I have already recommended him to friends and will continue to do so. Our house looks so good that the neighbors feel like they need to paint and spruce up their homes and yards, which is great because now our little street looks much nicer. Be sure to see pictures...We love our new house!
