I have had Michael over to my house on multiple occasions for repairs such as replacing the tiles on my kitchen floor, installing ballasts in my fluorescent lights, and repairing the hardware on my front door. I have always found him to do excellent work in a timely manner.

About this pro

I am not someone who takes the easiest route -- thus the name "In-Site." When my clients have problems, I do a thorough investigation to see what might be causing it. I'm also always thinking about the most cost-effective ways to accomplish any task. I'm a big researcher and YouTube watcher, just keeping up with the most ingenious ways to handle homeowner situations. I like solving problems. I also like doing things with my hands. I spent 35 years behind a desk, 25 looking at a computer screen. It's refreshing to go to the hardware store, pick up a few parts, and make someone's life easier. I feel like my experience and skills are unusual in this day and age. I add value every day.

    Q & A

    • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a lifelong learner, addicted to TV makeover shows and online blogs. But as part of my retirement project, I also became a licensed home inspector. I let that expire, but I learned a lot about what it takes to get a home ready to sell, and what people should look for when they're buying a home.
    • How did you get started doing this type of work?
I always loved taking things apart and putting them back together. I was one of the original DIY-ers, and all of my personal projects were my pride and joy. When GE offered an early retirement package, I was ready to become an entrepreneur. The timing just worked.
    • What types of customers have you worked with?
I have done a lot of closet reconfigurations, mostly because my clients have a lot of clothes! I also install a lot of reistats and timers and under-counter lighting. I have done my share of sheetrock repair and painting. I've also worked on a lot of doors -- installing new locks, leveling, refinishing.
Coverage Area for In-Site Home Maintenance is about 10+ miles of Houston, TX.
